Old Car Ads

Not really art per se, but I like looking at these old ads. They usually give a good insight into society at that particular point in time. I don't reckon you'd ever see a picture of a car doing a burnout or a set of christmas tree lights in a car ad these days...

its a shame car manufacturers dont market their cars like this anymore... i could watch them and look at them over and over again.. perhaps an ad with the hybrid prius zooooming and buzzing down the track could entice me to embrace the cars of tommorrow... I SHOULD THINK NOT!!! give me a 69 charger anyday aye lol

saw some ads on US telly in 06, pretty sure the ads for the mustang showed the car doin a burnout

Aussie TV adverts have changed because they cannot show any sign of speed what crAp. Gee I see that law has lowered the road toll. Thanks for the old ads they are great. I have the flyer for the supposed XU2. I only wish I had more of these old ads/handouts.

I've got some scans of late 60's Pontiac ads on my computer at home. Mostly Bonnies but there's at least 1 GTO.
They're all drawn/painted and do the usual trick of exaggerating the proportions of the car and shrinking the people.
I'll put them up here when I get a chance to resize them to something more friendly that their current rather large size.
