Re: 40 Ford coupe
Just about to smash the coupe ,its turning into a pig of a damm thing justed look at the paint it was full of small blisters all over it,the bonnet had more,so striped it back look at surface looked OK put some primer on it,all the little buggers have came back so me going to throw the damm thing in the bin now me know why me did not finish this one in 93,it will be another 17 years before I touch it again.

Re: 40 Ford coupe
Seriously Allan, you have the worst luck with paint on all your projects.........if the 40 looks bad why don't you just make it look like it's got patina and rub it back in various spots, spray some primer here and there and wack it together, otherwise just paint it with either grey primer, red oxide or flat black and throw some painted steelies on it!!!..job done

Re: 40 Ford coupe
Oh think I know why I had so much trouble with the paint on this one is because I put a thick coat of grey primer on it back in '93 and put it back in box and forgot about untill a few weeks ago, have moved twice since it was painted and been auto primer it has absorbed moisture in it then put paint on it the moisture has came into the paint as small blizters, last night I wet sanded most of the primer off to a very thin coat, then painted it will watch to see if I have trouble again hope not and rushing things does not help.
