37 Ford coupe WIP
Just an update on another project I have started, Revell 1937 Ford coupe, have started by opening up the boot and gluing Evergreen styrene strip on the inside, and starting to file and sand to achieve the correct profile, then I will start on making up the hinge assembly, also a couple of wheel options that I am looking at, the kit suspension is fairly low, but want to set it to the bits of bar I have underneath which are 4mm. Don't know about the engine yet but am thinking of going with a Ross Gibson resin. (sorry bout the photos)

Re: 37 Ford coupe WIP
I really did'nt get to far with mine did I Bryce! Probly didn't help the the first version ended up crushed.... . I bet you will have your '37 done before my one Adam. Here's where I got to.....but now it's missing the wheels and my original choice was the Chrome T's that you have mocked up as they do look sweet but those bigger ones you have there give it the look of the current trend in 1:1's.

Re: 37 Ford coupe WIP
nice little project Paul hope to see more, yeah I like the current loot of the larger wheels on the 1:1 rods. My only problem is that the are not as wide as I would like, my have to keep an eye out for a dub city set. But am planning to try and machine a set of larger outers on my lathe. See what happens, hey Paul where did you get hold of the PE grill? gotta get one, lol! Detailmaster?

Re: 37 Ford coupe WIP
Gday guys just a few photos of the motor underway, I am using the kit engine now, but with a few aftermarket products, wasn't real keen on the molded in dizzy but oh well. I picked up one of the Arrowhead aluminium carby/air cleaner sets and they are awesome! The carby is a resin holley and it also contains a perfect turned aluminium aircleaner, resin filter and even mesh. The manifold was painted with aluminium buffing metalizer, the carby has added Detailmaster linkage and fittings the return spring is just fuse wire.

Re: 37 Ford coupe WIP
Gday guys, a bit of a plast from the past, been in a bit of a modelling slump lately, basically starting more than i am finishing, so I am going back to basics try and get out of the slump, lol! I started this 37 over 12 months ago full of ideas, now im shelving all the work and just going to do it box stock, minimal engine wiring and just enjoy it. I ended up ditching the carb set up and are going to use the Chev and the tuned port injection instead. so heres a bit of progress paint by the way is Tamiya bright red, which the body will be painted in as well.

Re: 37 Ford coupe WIP
It's looking really neat Adam. Build it just the way you want to because there's no pressure to compete here. Red suits this car well too.

Re: 37 Ford coupe WIP
Yeah, know what you mean Adam. Sometimes you get mired in details and can't see the wood for the trees.
This looks great.

Re: 37 Ford coupe WIP
Gday guys happy new year, now the festivaties are out the way, i can get back into some modelling!! Sticking with my box stock build, (had to deviate a little bit, the tailshaft was shocking so I ended up making one out of some aluminium tube, much easier! I have the chassis pretty much complete, still have to put a bit of filler between the extractors and pipes. just used various metallizers on the metal parts and some detail painting, so slowly I am getting there. One thing I like about this kit is the super low stance out of the box, really sits nice. thanks for looking.

Re: 37 Ford coupe WIP
Gday Bryce, thanks for that. Mate it's Tamiya Bright Red TS 49, when I have taken the photo it seems to have a slight orange tinge to it. but to the eye it's red. Pity that
