BENZ 500SL

another new one its a Mercdes Benz 500 SL,from Fujimi 1/24,curbside.colour is contessa gold auto paint by Power plus,got 3 kits given to me.this is one of them.

That's a sweet looking colour Allan..
You got a set of wheels picked out for it yet ? Or staying with the "stockies"...?
Big set of bling chromies would suit it....

Greg would like to put a set new wheels but don't have any,might have to look around for a set of 1/24 scale.

Looking good allan, I always liked these mecedes. Hey if your looking for a nice set of wheels try at kmart on their 1:24/ 25 diecast tuners, and take the stock wheel with you to match up the sizes, theyre $20 i htink, but you dont just get wheels you get a car full of NOS bottles and ICE

thanks paul for the laugh,will be useing a green bling powder on it,that sould make it stand out,got a BMW to do also mmmmm what to do with it.

will be given the benz a coat of nail enamel colour called Dynamo from avon range its a metalic dark red,hope it gives the benz at candy look and to give the Benz a lift.

looking classy....even with a little pimping out(BLING) nice color choice.

3 new photos of Benz colour is DYNAMO nail enamel from Avon range over contessa gold,looks bit like wild plum,onephoto was taken just after colour was put on outside the other 2 were taken in side,the dark one was taken with flash the other no flash.

found a little set back with the paint,after it dryed it fealt like sandpaper on boot,roof,bonnet,have sanded it back with 2000 wet dry paper,also found it has dryed flat will have to give it a coat of clear gloss.

looks cool.. whatcha mixing your nailpolish with?? i had same probs until i started using all purpose thinners...

Andy I used auto general purpose thinners,with the nail enamel that I used has lot of metal flake it it,which has left a rough surface,re-airbrushed it today have to lightly sand back a bit then clear coat.the flake also flys all over the place when its airbrushed,so don't have any other bodys drying near by.

had little problen with the nail enamel on Benz were the 2 colours meet it started to blister,sanded it back 3 times in the end have reunder coated it,with 2 heavy coats then re-sprayed it the gold,waited 2 weeks be for putting gold on,I used 2 diffrent brands of nail enamel,I think that why it did it,so far no more problem.
