Re: '59 Impala, Street Scream'r
I'll second that , Bryce .That,s why I have 6 to build, 3 already started on ,WIP , and 1 already completed. All Revell/ Monogram except 1 used a resin 4 door hardtop body on one. Lookin' good!

Re: '59 Impala, Street Scream'r
OK no guessing whitch way I'm going now, I changed the wheels, and tires, used a 1960 Impala frame with the low rider front suspension, and then channeld just the frame 3/16th, inch, 4 and a 1/2 mm, for my friends across the pond, so not only did I get it to sit lower I still have a killer stance, plus I just had to see what it would look like with a blown 421 Pontiac, as the hood wil not fit the stock motor, so might as well go BLOWN,

Re: '59 Impala, Street Scream'r
OK so I didnt go with the blown 421, Pontiac, instead I went with the 427 , out of a '69 Yenko Camaro, intake, carby's, and breathers, are all parts box goodies, I just think this engine fits the build alot better then going blown,

Re: '59 Impala, Street Scream'r
Wash ya mouth out Bryce, I'm a die hard GM fan but 59's were just plain horrible! There the HD Holden of the Chevy range! 60's were a lot nicer looking, but only in my opinion. Love the motor though, looks heaps better with the Yenko engine instead of the blower.Bryce wrote:Tough looking model - one of the best looking cars ever made IMHO...

OK just a few muck up's she's just abut ready for paint, I would like to go with Brandywine Red, but may have to settle for Electric Currant Red, scratch built the hood scoop, and fill'd in the front valance trying for that roll'd pan look, well here goes,

Sweet.
Red'll work but looking at the top pic in the above post have you thought about white, bone or very pale grey with a red interior?

Re: '59 Impala, Street Scream'r
OK guys got the kolor down, had to test it on a plastic spoon first to see how it would look, it's dupli-color auto paint, Cherry Red Pearl Metalic, over a Black base coat, so I guess it would be ummmmmm, Black Cherry Pearl Metalic? well hers a shot of it, and I gotta tell you the picture does no justice....

Re: '59 Impala, Street Scream'r
First off sorry guys, I havent been around, have had my head deep in another project, but I wanna thank every one for the kind words, I just thought I would post a few, of this Lil sweet heart decked out in her Black dress, I'm still haveing issues about the fit of the hood, working on that, and I gotta wait till it's not blowing 17 mph out here to lay that ever present cherry pearl, tho I do say she looks rather stunning in a black dress
