1/12 Blower Bentley
I'm building the airfix Blower Bentley, Very nice kit to build, but lacks some finer details that I am attempting to do. I have assembled the basic chassis and decided that it needs brake detail.
The 1st thing was the brake drums, on the 1:1 the drums are finned, so I used small strips of evergreen strip to simulate these.
Then it needed brake rods. I made these with 0.08 mm brass rod and made the ends from 0.25 brass shim. I have yet to make the levers for the rods to fit to, but will probably make them from evergreen strip.
I also detailed the handbrake parts using brass rod brass shim a evergreen shapes.
The next thing will be the engine, which is reasonably detailed but needs a bit more to really bring it to life.
I will post more pics as I progress further. Thanks for looking

Re: 1/12 Blower Bentley
I have built this one before for a customer and it's quite a big kit to tackle let alone improve on the detail. The most time consuming part was respoking the wire wheels - I did that using thin plastic rod. It will come up very well when finished Frank. It will be worth all the extra effort. You're off to a good start so please keep on posting pics when you can. It's one of my favourite classics.

Hey Frank, you're off to a nice start on this....
Though it may not be my regular kind of build, I'll be interested to tag along on this journey...
With the extra details you'll be adding, something may rub off on me...I'm always up for something new..
