41 Chevy COE pickup
You might think that his build is in the wrong spot from the title but its not. This build started out while I'm waiting for everything to harden up on the F100 build it was unplanned it started out as a 41 Chevy COE car transporter that I have been planing for a while but I came across the picture below and had to build it I have a thing for 30's to 60's COE car transporters. This build will be a bit different from my other builds because the body is going to be the master then cast for the standard 41 COE and a resin cab will be used and modified to finish this build. It rides on a shortened Chevy Silerardo chassis left over from a past build
The photo that put a spanner in the works, in a good way I just have to buid it
A style of the transporter that will be used in the other build
The 41 Chevy pickup that was the base kit only the windows up does not need to be touched every other panel need to be modified in some way
The front guards being reworked the grill in the roughed out shape needed major reworking the line on the left is the guard with the 2.5 added into it at the point were the panel meets up on the real thing the line on the left is the panel join line but still needs the 2.5mm add in to it, To get to the required width of the real truck.
The cab siting on the Chevy Silverado extra cab chassis left over from a previous build its been shortened to the required 109 inc wheel base model of the 41 COE
The extended tray sitting on the body work the rear gaurds have been winded 5mm to bring it ot the right width these still have to be reshaped and cleaned up yet
the front view the grill still needs a bit of reshaping to the outside corners to get it rightit sit at 4.5mm of the ground so a 115mm in real life just QLD legel in real life the head lights will be reworked on the cast of this body
Enjoy

Re: 41 Chevy COE pickup
Do you plan on doing the same paint scheme as the reference pic or do you have something else in mind?
I just started the same kit, couple more days and I'll show the progress. It'll be interesting to see the '41 built two different ways.
Keep the updates comin'

Re: 41 Chevy COE pickup
Thanks everyone for the comments so far I started on the grill to day the Coe runs a 15 bar grill with wider bars with the center twice as thick as the others were the 41 pickup runs a 17 bar grill so Ive had to make and shape every bar to match the spot that it belongs has taken about 4 hours to get it about 99% right, Am still fingering out the bonnet what is going to be the easiest way of doing it having done a few in the past I'm not doing it those way again the hardest part is getting the right shape at the top of the front I might end up making a buck and forming it out of brass
Clutch am planing to do the same paint job but flames are not my strong point every time i do them I'm not happy with them and that's one of the things that I might change to a different style of flame but will work that out latter will post pictures of the grill tomorrow
As with my other build please tell me what you think good or bad as I think that its only makes a better build
Thanks
Kynan

Re: 41 Chevy COE pickup
It's looking great, and I think you will get inundated with even more requests for a resin copy once it's done, I certainly wouldn't mind one

Re: 41 Chevy COE pickup
finished ruffing in the grill and surround have re layed the bonnet ridge as was not happy with the shape was not quite right about to start the bonnet think its going to take a day or two a lot of funny angels and curves is going to be the hardest part of the build

Re: 41 Chevy COE pickup
i have looked at the COE trucks and have only now put it together thanks for the edyamakashin
if you are making resin copies, put me down for 1, would be a leap away from what is usually on the bench.
great work go the blue team
