How the bloody hell do all you guys keep track of what parts you took from where? eg. the bumbers are from 56 chev, motor is 454 big block from such and such kit.... Maybe i just dont pay much attention to stuff like that. I just build whatever.

My missus still shakes her head, she'll pick up a small part off the floor and say "Is this anything" and I'll say"Yeah that's a such and such out of so and so kit" She then asks how the hell I knew that. Been building for over 30 years, I guess somethings got to sink in, being a 1:1 car nut helps too I think.

Oh ive been a 1:1 nut since i was about 3. (so my old man tells me).
I can tell you what the part is i just cant tell you from what kit or tell you what kit came with what motor or options and stuff like that. Im at the stage now i feel like just chucking all my crappy kits in the parts boxes and starting again.

Im an engie builder from way back... well from 96 anyway ha ha. So needless to say my fave bit is the engine. And to add to that im chasing all the engine kits i possibly can. Think i'll have to start writing down all my glorious ideas in a folder so i can always remember.

I use a A3 visual Diary (Art folder) the same as I use as a backing for my build photos i find its great for scribbling down ideas and notes for a build, I find its a good size because the amount of info you can get on it compared to A4. I started my first trade as a diesel fitter in 88 with Dresser (International) now Komatsu in Tasmania and I have to admit I model a far bit of earth moving and mining equipment and would of helped with part identification but not with that semi elliptic leaf spring came out of that kit and that issue I don't know were that useless skill came from. Lol
