57 Chevy
Here's a wip that I've just started on.
Trying out some scratchbuilding etc on this one, so hopfully it'll be OK with the limited tools that I have
This is how it started before it's bath.
The plan is to go a bit more prostreet/retro-tech with this. Based on an actual 57 that has been in magazines previously.
After the bath it's time to start playing.
That's it for now. Need to do more cutting out of the engine bay, shaving off the badges, handles and smoothing out the flames that I didn't realise were cut into the body when setting up the old flames. Then I can start on some adding of styrene.

Re: 57 Chevy
I have completed more of this now.
The firewall and inner fenders have now gone, debadged and door handles shaved.
Now I'm asking for some help here. I'm wanting to add a strip of styrene to the bottom of the sills (will also be putting in a new firewall as well). How do I go about making it stick properly? Do you guys brace it in place while the glue dries etc? Glue small bits at a time like tack welding? Any help would be great. Should I also get some different glues as well, as this is all I have at the moment?

Re: 57 Chevy
Looking good so far.
Superglue is your best bet for adding styrene strip. I just dot in on in sections and when I'm happy with how it's looking I usually run some in the join to reinforce it.
And no matter how careful I am, I always end up with it all over my hands and my finger stuck to the model at some point!

Re: 57 Chevy
Thanks for that Bryce. I got the strips attached Friday night, and they are still where I left them. Now onto the rest of the additions. More pics soonish.

Re: 57 Chevy
When I say soonish, don't hold your breath.
Not much done on this one yet, just a couple more quick pics. The 56 Belair took up most of the time recently. These were actually done a while ago, just never got around to posting them. Have to get pics of the chassis soon, as that is where I have been doing most of the work recently.

Re: 57 Chevy
Stance is spot on Chevyfan, are you going to use the back half of a pro street kit or modify the existing chassis? Looking forward to seeing some progress.
