Dragster
Dunno if this qualifies, but I used to run this at Riverside in the 60's. I'm slowly building a 1/16 replica of it.

Sure does Frank , if it wasnt for guys like you back then australiian drag racing wouldnt' exist today so thanks mate & for sharing your pic with us . guys this is drag race history at its best these firist rails were pretty wild rides in there day , hey frank did you run at

Yeah it was a pretty wild ride with only hand operated hydraulic brakes on the rear wheels, but I wouldn't have missed it for quids.
Drag racing was a lot cheaper to be competative in those days too.
I did run at Pakenham, but not in this dragster. I ran a 38 Ford ute with a 3/4 race engine. That was a bit scary, light in tail on the dirt strip.
Love the Bantam, where did you run it? You still got the (old) salt racer.

Hi Frank , the Ol' bantam ran most country tracks around Vic & SA , the 28 chev is stripped down & stored , salt has taken its toll but one day i will restore it get it back on the lake. where are those days gone . you foregot to mention at Pakenham you launched on a concrete slab onto gravel track know thats drag racing hey mate, these guys just got it to good..

Steve, started on the lake in the early 80s , Frank this is me with chuck sharpe of four for ever four fame some years back know , thats my T ford powered by ol' flattie dodge six with chuck's help brought home some shinny stuff that year . guys you cant beat lakes racing ..im the younger bloke !
