LAPD Camaro Empty LAPD Camaro

This is one that I started building in the race car GAS. Never got around to finishing it. Still not there yet, but getting a lot closer now.

I'm not doing it the colours or going to use all the decals from the kit. Only just decided the other night what colour it was going to be. It's been built otherwise OOB. Still not ready for the full-on details that a lot of you guys do.

I was going to use aluminium foil for the floor pan, but the trans tunnel was a PITA so I stopped there.

The body was going to be blue and white but had a red can handy so that's where it came from. Was going to change the seat colour to match but the chassis and cage were already together.

Cheers for looking.

Looks cool and fast. That's a serious set of meat on the rear!
What's up with the simmer sause? Is that some kind of new paint stripper? LAPD Camaro Icon_geek

Slowly getting closer to finishing this one off. Still putting off the placing decals on it as I haven't done that for a loooooonng time and don't wanna ruin what I've done so far.

Also, I have gotten overspray (auto spray can paint) onto the windows, what's the best way to clean these up? Any help would be great.

If it's only mild, Novis #2 or similar polish, if it's bad, a light sand with 1200-1500 wet and dry, then polish. Pretty easy fix.

Cheers for that. I'll give the polish trick a go tonight (hopefully). Could this also work on a foggy window (different model that I wanna rebuild at a later date)? I think it's from the fumes of superglue.

Yep but just polish unless you have glue on it as well.

Coming along nicely - should look great when finished.

When poishing the glass use small swirls and not long dragging strokes (if you are ex-army you'll know about polishing boots - same technique).

That I do Tezza and I was discharge in 92 and still remember the spit and polish the old black GP's. With the windows after I polish them out I coat it with Future floor polish ( One Go ) it protects the window and covers any really faint swells and drys clear if the window is a little bit fogged before the future it, It will make it clear

The car looks great as well

Been a while, but after breaking both windows trying to remove the overspray and getting replacement ones from Checkmate (cheers again for that), finally got around to doing some more on this one. First time I've decalled any kits for about 12 or more years. The decals are slightly yellowed, and fragile (but maybe they are breaking because of me). Hopefully have this one finished up soon.

Old decals can be a real PITA... thumbsdown

I always find that very frustrating. You put loads of time into a build only to find at the very end that the decals are rubbish - keep at it though.
