Back in the early days of hot rodding it wasn't unusual to see a fairly agricultural tread pattern on the rear tyres. You went for the size needed to raise the gearing to lift top speed on the lakes and if that meant using dirt track tyres or something agricultural then so be it.
So while they may not be period correct they are in keeping with the spirit of the car.
And more importantly I like them and they look 100% better than those horrible Revell things that were on there.
