Killer Cuda
Got this off Evilbay recently fairly cheap, it's a 1978 Production and thought about doing it in the style of the day......nah not really, although the thought of chopping up an old kit bothered me a bit, then I got over it
I found this on the net and decided it fitted the bill so this will be the basis for my build.
As mentioned on Kynan's thread, the chassis is crap in this kit and the engine bay is just wrong. I have pinched both the chassis and engine bay from the Yankee Challenger but the rear wheel tubs were rediculously shallow, so out came the knife and styrene rod.
New chassis rails were made then the interior had to be mod'd because you can see all the back part of it through the window. Chassis also had to be shortened about 5mm.
The engine bay was cut from the Challenger then had to be widened on the sides but it all fits pretty well now.
Not sure on wheels yet, these are a set of resin ones from TPB that they made up for me from my master(now available from there store), then I Alcladed them.
Blower and shotty scoop are also from the Challenger kit, not sure on them yet either. May go with a Alcladed Big and Ugly yet.
At this stage it will be Monza red of yellow base, the yellow makes the red brighter .....apparently.

Re: Killer Cuda
I don't know if I should be insulted or not, ah, who gives a crap.
I love seeing plenty of rubber under a car, doesn't always have to be ProStreet big but gotta be decent, that's why I love those Blue streaks.
Bit of luck I will be going to Rocky show so hope to have this done by then.

Re: Killer Cuda
Got some paint on this yesterday and got the BMF done today before another 3 coats of clear. I'll leave it a week or so to harden up a bit then give it a polish. Paint is Monza Red over White base and then clear coated, all using Holts rattle cans. I always clear coat over BMF because it does tend to tarnish after a while but the main reason is so when you polish the car you don't get black crap from the foil on your paint, o.k. on dark colours but no good on white.
