Re: El Camino
Thats bad arse. Glad to see your going the pro mod look, alhough it could be mistaken for a burnout machine from what I have been seeing at comps and workshops lately. Too cool. Fat rubber and a PHAT motor. what more could you ask for.

E-Bays good. Keep an eye on it after chrimbo for people selling off unwanted presents or having a tidy out.
Watch for sellers with junk yard lots cheap. You can get some usefull bits that way but study the pics as it can suck to win what you think will be a killer body to find it has no "glass" or broken pillars. Also watch for people selling what is basically crap for inflated prices or people parting out kits. During the last year there has been a very persistant seller trying to part out a Revell Willys Street Rod. No problem there except that if you added up what he was asking it came to more than a complete, new, sealed kit from one of the more expensive sellers.
With junk yard stuff brake fluid and caustic soda are your best friends. Never underestimate how much glue someons can use assembling small parts and don't rely on a junk yard engine being usable.
Also watch out for (or befriend) slot car racers. They'll typically buy kits, use the body and then dispose of all the running gear.
Finally, if you are really stuck for stuff then ask. Just don't be doing it all the time.

Re: El Camino
It's taken a while Brett but finally I found some time and inspiration to pick it up . 10.50 class , hardly , I was hoping for 6.70's but we'll see. Thanks for the comments guys .Mustang 67, I've been buying and building for 35 years & thats why I have so much running gear (drag stuff) I got onto a lot of stuff when it was really cheap . If ur desperate I may be able to help you , I have so many boxes I hardly remember where everything is

Re: El Camino
10.5 Outlaws refers to the rear tyre size, any motor type (blown / turbo) and body shape is allowed and these guys will typically run 6's and 7's.

Or you have a really good mate that had a shit load of stuff ( like 900 odd kits ) they didnt want.
