Inspired by Bryce.
Thanx for the inspiration Bryce.
Chopped, channelled the width of the rails (traditional), was thinking of OHV Caddy (Revel Parts pack) but now I've got the wheels figured out I'm startin' to lean towards a hot flattie.

Re: Inspired by Bryce.
I dread the day I see a thread entitled "inspired by zenrat".
Not likely to happen though is it
What have you done to the roof on this Carps? It looks, well, shagged (in a good way).
I reckon this would look sweet with a hot 4 banger.

Re: Inspired by Bryce.
Nice one Carps. Maybe Zen is onto something with a big four banger and a few Cragar bits? Would be different, but then it would be "inspired by Zenrat" and not Bryce - tough call.

Re: Inspired by Bryce.
Fred, I considered a hot banger, since the T kit comes with a twin cam Fronty, but no, it has to have a V8 of some description.
The roof is pasking tape, just to avoid filling the grain with primer surfacer.

Re: Inspired by Bryce.
Definately a flatty, with triple carbs and maybe Ardun heads?

Considered using an Ardun, but this is a low dollar car so it was sent back to the box.
That top is actually masking tape. I was gunna use pasking tape but found I was out of stock. ;D

Re: Inspired by Bryce.
So it's only temporary tape?
It looks like the fabric of the roof is either coming off or has been bodged in order to keep the rain out.
If it has to be a V8 then how about something off the wall like a Studebaker?
Now, i'd promised myself not to start anything else until I finish up a few more. But this has got me itching to start into that '32 sedan i've been robbing parts from...

Re: Inspired by Bryce.
I spent this evening trial fitting various engines and finally settled on a flatty.
It's a bitsa with the basics coming from the AMT '41 Woody with a junkbox manifold that will be modified further to fit the blower, which is found in various AMT kits. Te drive belt and scoop are also from the junkbox and I have no clue where they originated, they just happen to fit.
The scars are healing nicely and this is closer to 'actual' ride height.
Driveline will be all early ford, closed prop shaft and banjo diff (no quickchange this time).
I like the '33 standard hubcaps better than the '34 V8 units on the front wheel, so will go with them also, although I did consider running capless.
For those who wanna know, the wheels are stockers from the AMT '33/4 kits, front tyres are also from those kits and the rears are resin from The Partsbox, carefully (very carefully) machined so the wheels fit perfectly.

Let me remind you.
Bryce wrote:Nah, seriously...not sure if you are familiar with this kit, but it comes in about a million bits and they are all very flimsy, so there is no way I am gonna start chopping it up as it will definitely end up back in the box in a matter of hours.
You know how I love a challenge.

Lookin' good Carps - nothing wrong about "bitsa's" - that's the way real rodders work. I like what you've done so far.

Re: Inspired by Bryce.
The model A is coming along nicely, had to recess the firewall to get some engine set-back in order for the blower drive etc. to clear the radiator. Paint is a Jaguar colour, Sable, metallic.
Chassis is plain old gloss black, with orange and chrome details.

Re: Inspired by Bryce.
Nice chop Carps - that is a hard one to get right.
Blown flathead running a stock style diff and skinny wire wheels!- that would be quite courageous in a 1:1 rod
I like it
