Kombi with a differance
Just received this body and had a motor lying around so what else can i do
This is a long term project, will be building the chassis out of brass ,also don't know whether to turn it into a ute or leave it as a bus,
The motor is a V12 Allison
The body is 50cm long,20cm wide,18cm high
any way here are a few pics

Re: Kombi with a differance
Yea it has some grunt
The tranny is a heavy duty auto mated to an 11" drag rear end with quad caliper brakes and drilled rotors
Here is a link to the diff

Re: Kombi with a differance
I'm just waiting to see where the driver sits and what sort of view he'd have looking over that engine . Looks fantastic , great detail on the motor .

Re: Kombi with a differance
That thing is huge and the detail on the motor is excellent.
It will be interesting to see what you come up with.

Re: Kombi with a differance
Thanks for the comments
The scale is 1/8
Motor is not finished yet still waiting on scale bots and nuts, there 72 for the exhaust manifold along plus the sump and rocker covers There will be over 200 for the motor plus front end and other bolt on bits
the driver should be sitting the normal position up front

Re: Kombi with a differance
Sensational stuff there AJ. This should be a "wow" factor model when finished. Was that large body originally meant for radio control?
Looking forward to more posts on this one.

tezza
I don't think it is meant for RC as it comes with floor pan steering wheel, light bucket, wheels and tyres and seats, although i didn't get the floor pan, seats or wheels(its a long complicated story).

Re: Kombi with a differance
Looks alot like Big Al...the 34 Sedan with the Allison. Make sure the driver has earplugs and protection in the more sensative places.
