Hi guys, another update. I have roughly constructed the bumper. I have removed the molded in windscreen wipers, checkerplate from the guards, and bonnet catches. I have also removed the grill. I am replacing the grill with the one you see in the pics. Also using alot of spares from a DM600. I will also be getting rid of the headlights and replace them with spares.

Cheers for looking.

Ben

Man those Macks look mean don't they. This is fascinating as we rarely see pics of a truck model being built. Thanks for sharing and welcome to the group.

Hi Danny and others, I have had to put the flintstone down atm. I have exams in two weeks, but after the exams I will be back into it full swing and hope to get it finished by christmas. The only thing I have done lately is ordered custom decals (Top Dog) and number plates for the bumper. Cheers for the encouragement.

Hi fellas, no more to update of late as I am studying for my final exams. But I am currently doing a diecast firstgear B61 Mack in 1/34 in for my grandfather, based off one of his trucks from the 60's. It has RHD dash, air tank, car spring bullbar and side exhaust. It is alot easier than the flintstone and almost complete so I will post it when it is finished.
Cheers, Ben

I plan to build a single axle flat top for the B61 and load it with 44 gallon drums painted red with a blue stripe on them to match the AMPOL colours (My Grandfather had the AMPOL contract in Injune back then) but that wont be for a while. I have already got some of the drums produced, and the trailer demensions sussed out but thats all at the moment. The Flintstone was to be bobtail, however I may just put an AMT fruehauf flat top behind her....

Cheers

Thanks Ben....I want to do one or two as log trucks, and perhaps a Kenworth needlenose if I can find one. I haven't ventured into 1/32 before and this has inspired me to give this scale a go Very Happy
