1/64 Hotwheels x3 Empty 1/64 Hotwheels x3

Post by Clutch Tue 21 Sep 2010, 11:16 am

On another forum we had a "Hotwheels build off" last month, working with a smaller scale is definitely a challenge.
I started with these 3. '10 Camaro, '64 Impala, '67 GTO.

Here's what I came up with,
1/64 Hotwheels x3 12

1/64 Hotwheels x3 012

On the Impala, I bmf'd all the chrome. The door handles and window trim was very hard to do. The paint is light blue with white sponged along the side.

Classic red and black for the GTO. The window trim is foil but the wheel arches and doors handles is polished metal.

1/64 Hotwheels x3 18

Something stealthy for the Camaro, green to purple colour shift on a black base.

1/64 Hotwheels x3 19

Thanks for looking.

Thanks guys...& Mrs Dsf.
Why don't you give a hotwheels a go, you might supprise yourself. It's also a good way to test out a paint scheme you've been thinking of but don't want to waste time and paint on a 1:25 to see how it looks. Thanks

Nice work Clutch - are your eyes OK or are they crossed from looking at such small details?

This is a good idea - maybe we should have a permanent Hotwheels makeover area in our forum?

Tezza That might be a good idea as I just stripped paint off 3 old Hotwheels cars so that I can put a new coat of paint on them to use up some almost empty spray cans.
