Takin the cake.... more flames, but with a twist!

Don't know if this technically qualifies as a "build" per se, but modelling was involved! This is a cake that I helped my wife with. She had to do a couple of cakes for a kids birthday party & one request was for a yellow ute. And I took that to mean a yellow hotrod pick up with flames! The whole cake was airbrushed with edible paint, I had to "slightly" modify the flame masks as the cake is a fair bit bigger than your average kit! It was like losing a child watching the kids destroy it, but I guess that's what it's for.... Enjoy! By the way, it was very tasty too.....

That's cool , well done . I generally do elaborate cakes for my kid's birthdays but haven't been able to find suitable paints/colours , where did you get them and how were they to spray with ?

The paints came from Cake Decorating Central at Castle Hill. Just sprayed through an airbrush (we have one just for cakes, don't want any lacquer aftertaste!)

Great artistry. My wife teaches cake decorating and knows how difficult this is. She says it's excellent work and so do I - congratulations Mrs. Chris. Pity we don't get to sample it.
