69 Dodge Charger
This was my first attempt at building a small scale car model . I built it for my mate who had all the bits ready to go , for anyone that knows me I don't know alot about these types of cars just had alot of colored pics to work from and several different kits were supplied the base kit was an AMT General Lee Charger.
I painted the model with 4 coats of Acrylic Midnight Black and clear coated with a further 4 polishing with Autosol Between coats.
I machined the Aircleaners bodies and covered them in Ultra fine mesh the other kit I used for the chassis etc from memory was the revell Chevel SS Pro street .
I entered it in the 06 SA model Expo it placed 1st in the small scale modified class, my mate was chuffed when I handed him the car another happy camper !!

Re: 69 Dodge Charger
thats tuff, you should build a couple more like this 1.
the chassis from the pro street chevelle is great for conversions like this, it fits almost anything with very little work...

Re: 69 Dodge Charger
Great job Sean! That looks awesome. Nothing beats a black Charger. That AMT General Lee kit is renowned for being a bit of a dog, so you did well to make it look this good. It's also a bit of a phantom hybrid as it has the flush rear window of a Charger 500 but the hidden headlights of a standard Charger!
FYI - if you plan to do another one the Revell '69 Charger is an excellent model kit and AMT make a Pro Street Superbee which would provide the right running gear. (I'm not going to be the one to carp on about the blasphemy of putting chevy running gear in a mopar!)
With this little number in your modelling resume, I reckon it might be time to try your hand at a gasser Sean?

Re: 69 Dodge Charger
As much as I like gassers I don't get the time to build for myself these days !!
Re: 69 Dodge Charger
im trying to fit the AMT superbee running gear into the revel charger at the moment .......its not a good fit and is requiring a lot of mods.

That is Just fantastic Sean, that paint job is GLASS, I'd be happy if my paint jobs were half that shiny. Love the air cleaners too. Cheers

Except Bullit's Mustang!
For your first small build it's excellent work Sean. Your engineering skills just keep on amazing me.
