Escort RS Cosworth Empty Escort RS Cosworth

Post by dufasdave Mon 28 Mar 2011, 2:57 pm

Before any says something, yes I know I'll cop flak over this one as it is 4 cyl turbo car and not a muscle car, drag car or hot rod, BUT I am building this one as a street sprint car/circuit racer. An obvious change to the colour style over the rally car, not a copy of any particular car. I have used the wheels from a WRX rally car, just painted titanium grey. Interior will be much the same as the kit except for deleting the passenger seat.

You won't cop any flak from me Dave. We can show any type of car on this forum, not just muscle cars so relax and do your own thing. Your ideas sound great and you're off to a good start - keep us posted.

Well I just put some clear coat on and 2 b*^&%$d things happened:
clear coat has already yellowed AND
as I sprayed, the mist picked up an aray of shit, fuzz and dumped it on the white.
Now have to sand/clean it up and respray the white and maybe he green as well.

Shame about the clear, i hate it when that happens. If its any consolation it look good so far.

Small update on this one. I have sanded the white , re-masked and resprayed the white. Didn't bother clear coating in case I have the same drama with it yellowing. I put the yellowing down to an old can of Tamiya clear. I don't recall ever having this problem before when using a fresh can. I bought a heap of old cans of Tamiya spray off a bloke and they had a bit of age to them. Haven't really got back into this one apart from fixing the paint. Its been boxed and put back in the cupboard. Will look at it after the Queensland Model Hobbies Expo.
