Re: Airfix cars
I hope they are better than the airfix mini in the same scale , I built one as the 1966 bathurst winner (don't even ask about the differences between the model and real car) , the body was in 4 parts , underbody , lower half of front , lower half of rear , and remainder of top .... They didn't fit together very well either but looked good as a finished model .

Re: Airfix cars
The Escort Mk-1 had a couple of greens that I recall - Le Mans Green and Modena Green.

Re: Airfix cars
Thank's for that Tezza43,had found the 2 colours that you said,in the kit there is a small pot of Humbrol paint of #3 Brunswick green which is a very dak green look's a lot like the evergreen colour, been thinking its the wrong colour the photo of the escort is a 73 model, the things we do for young ones.

Re: Airfix cars
Modena Green isn't listed as metallic in the Escort lists. I wouldn't trust colour swatches on screen either. Take a look at Humbrol Paint's colour swatch charts here
http://www.humbrol.com/search/?searchguid=20115335353
You can also enter a commercial colour to see the closest they have to it. I guess it will come down to a matter of "is it really that noticeable"?

Re: Airfix cars
Brunswick Green = British Racing Green (or near as dammit).
http://www.hiroboy.com/catalog/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=british+racing+green&osCsid=9c380e24b1ac879933ce8f70d833a6a5&x=0&y=0
I've used zero paints with no problems - they are ready thinned for spraying and the jars even screw straight onto my (Pasche) airbrush.
Take advantage of the cheap pound and order from Hiroboy - last time I did the paints arrived before i'd even clicked "confirm order".
OK, so maybe a slight exageration, but they were faster getting stuff to me from the UK than HLJ are sending it from Japan.
I bought my Dad the Airfix 60's saloon car set which has the Escort, a Viva & a Herald. I had a sticky in the box before I posted it to him and they all looked pretty nicely moulded. No chrome though and 1/32 puts me off.
