DAF & Fridgepan
Here is one that I built a little while ago. It was called 'KOLN Truck', and was modelled after the real show truck which has scenes of Koln in Germany. One side has a night scene and the other side has the same scene, but daytime in winter. I bought it to try doing complex decaling. It turned out quite nicely and went together very well, as to expected with Italeri kits. Its one of the curbside kits with no working steering, tilt cab or engine. Oh well, wasn't going to drive it anywhere anyway. Hope you like.

Re: DAF & Fridgepan
Complex decalling is a tame way of describing a work of art like this. That is awesome mate - a credit to your patience and skills. Looks fantastic!

Re: DAF & Fridgepan
Thanks guys. The decals are of high quality, but you need to be ready with the chemicals. I thoroughly enjoyed building this one.

Re: DAF & Fridgepan
I was using Testors decal setting solution and decal solvent. The solvent helps to soften the decal and make it more flexible. The setting solution seamed to help with pulling the decal to the surface of the model. Thats what I found at least. Unlike putting a standard decal on, which doesn't take too long, these complex ones have to wrap around tights curves, e.g. front steps and panel stampings etc., so they take a while to do which would normally render the decal adhesive useless by the time you locate it properley, or the decal will split or tear. The solvent stops the splitting or tearing, and the setting solution helps the bonding process. Don't rush it, I think this one took me about 6 hours to decal and I sealed the model with Pledge floor polish with this one.

Re: DAF & Fridgepan
Awesome work mate, out of my league, decals aren't my strong point especially when they're that big.
