Scania 'Gumboot'
Hey guys, thought I'de post another one of my trucks while I'm finishing off my new model room. This was the last model I built when I lived in Brissie. It was nearly finished when I sold the house, so it was a rush job to finish it. The colour is pink and the chassis is gunmetal. It was supposed to have a fridge pan to go along with it with colourful graphics down the side showing lollies. I was building it for my two girls. The truck is fully converted to right hand drive using all scratch built steering gear and dash. The doors open and I've scratch built the bullbar, which is hinged seperately and locks as well. The truck is also fully plumbed with injector lines as well as air lines and some electrical wiring as well. It needs a little finishing off and repair after being packed for about five years. I will also build the trailer for it soon as well. Hopes you'se like.

Well I certainly like it, although that's a strange colour for a truckie to drive (you have explained it though)? I hope you get to finish it all one day.
How about this suggestion for signage?

Re: Scania 'Gumboot'
What an excellent idea. I could scratch a bulk cement belly tanker for it instead of the fridge pan.checkmate wrote:Readymix pink! Looks great mate!

Yeah, and I'm sure if you were paid enough danger money, you would drive it! It was meant to be very colourful for the girls, hense the girly colour and the idea of the lollies all over the sides of the trailer. I'm seriously liking the idea of the bulk tanker in the ready mix guise, and will start on the project as soon as I have finished my hobby room. Besides, it was packed for so long that the girls have gotten older, and wouldn't care less. I also think some pinks are awesome and under rated. Not that I would paint any of my rides in girly colours.zenrat wrote:Aaaargh! my eyes, my eyes!

Re: Scania 'Gumboot'
Pinks great, Holden had some nice pink colours in the 70's. Orchard metallic and Strike me Pink are two of the hottest colours and I'd have a car in either of them.
Tanker would look awesome mate, I thought Readymix soon as I seen it.

Nahh , admit it , you painted it nipple pink so it'd stand out in the cold and be easy to find in the car park ..... I know , back in my box ....
