Bathurst ? Thats where i have ALL intensions of sitting and watching but wake up near the end .

Top Ten Shoot-out is on Seven at 3.45pm Saturday (today). Lowndes has fastest lap so far at 2m06.8012s, beating Greg Murphy's seven year old record.

Bathurst is probably the only V8 Supercar race I'll watch this year, it seems to be getting a bit dull I think. I really like watching the good old boys drive around in circles in the Nascar lately.

Agree Rob - NASCAR drivers aren't afraid to "rub fenders" and provide very close racing. So do the Brits - ever watched the British Touring Cars on TV? Those guys are nuts but so exciting to watch.

I reckon there should be more car makes bunched together in touring car racing, than only Holden and Ford. It has become boring lately!

I agree Tezza, they need to invite more manufactures. (such as chrysler )

But BMW, Kia and Hyundai are seriously looking into entering the V8's.

Your probably thinking "WTF KIA?!?!" but yes, they are working on putting a 4.4 litre V8 in a Kia coupe. The standard road car is expected to have 311Kw which is more than a HSV Clubsport!!!

What a great race too! Anyhoot ...think back to the days when they allowed the BMW's and Camaro's etc into the race. The crowd went wild ......with anger and it was the same when they allowed the turbo's in ....It aint broken so dont fix it! Its all about Holden V Ford for me (As long as Holden win hehehe ) and a lot of others (Mostly old farts like me).

Have to agree tho ...NASCAR is fender to fender but ..around and around and around ...na thanks! The brits ...used to love the 2 ltr series ...bloody biff and barge maximus ...

Can't see the Kia coupe being allowed as the rules state it must have 4 doors, that's why they never raced Monaros in the V8's. But no doubt they will change the rules if it suits them.

Congratulations to Garth Tander and Nick Percat on their very close Bathurst win. Fantastic driving by Lowndes to almost take the race, but the end result was never in doubt for me. Holden on three podiums again - getting boring!

Congratulations also to Sebastian Vettel, the youngest F1 World Champion back to back. Come on Mark - where are you?

Yeah I agree, they seem to change the rules half way through a race lately *cough* Surfers Paradise *cough*

Isn't the idea to go to a "templated" body (like NASCAR) so that as long as you have built something thats their shape then by applying the appropriate stickers it can be a Ford or a Holden or a Toyota or a Kia or a Fredcar.
