69 Muzzy
Using the oldish Revell CobraJet 69 stang to build a close representation of a NZ car'Started by gluing on the front and rear panels and adapting a tunnel ram manifold to a highrise blower manifold.
got til December to get this done for our clubs annual kiwi car night so wont be quite as quick as usual (maybe lol)

Re: 69 Muzzy
These would be the closet I have, only thats as low as I can get it without major surgery which I was trying to avoid. At the moment its sitting on the engine bay inner guards and the back bottom of the back seat. If it wasnt supposed to be a pretty close too it replica I would have just hacked stuff up. As it is all the inner rear guards and spring mounts are gone (real one has a 4 link setup
I know once colour is on and its all together it will look better but its still a little high for me

Re: 69 Muzzy
Dont think its quite that bad mate but it is too high. I might try thinning the wheels a bit from the back ?????
Re: 69 Muzzy
Maybe not that bad, but it does sit higher than anyone would like it . You would have to ask dad on lowering it, I'm still learning

Re: 69 Muzzy
Doing a graveyard shift for the next six weeks so calling it a night. As is the sills are six scale inches above the ground which looks worse than it sounds I think if I remove one tread row off each of the backs of the tyres/wheels they shouldnt rub on anything and give me another two or three inches lower. Will have another look tomorrow when I get up.
Any ideas or suggestions are welcome, cheers Brett

Re: 69 Muzzy
thats one of my favorite mustangs, its just plain awesome, cutting the wheel-back off would be the only way to lower it without choppin up the back seat, should look awesome! Cant wait for more on this!

Re: 69 Muzzy
Looking tuff mate, i agree, narrowing the rear wheel would be the easy way of doing it, just don't go too narrow, we don't want cheese cutters on the bum of that thing. Removal of the inner guards by cutting along the join where they mate up to the body, then add a couple of mm of plastic and put the inners back to keep that untouched look. I'm sure you'll sort it mate, looking forward to seeing this done.

Thanks guys, thinned the wheel backs a bit started a four link setup, still heaps to do to tidy things up. Still seems a little high but it will have to do.

Re: 69 Muzzy
Finally dragged my sorry arse back to the shed, gave it a respray a few days ago and a polish today (no clear), pretty much finished up the interior and added some exhaust pipes,(gave up on headers no bloody room so tight in there), besides with the hood on you cant tell anyway. the front will sit a little lower once the chassis is glued into place.
and foiled it after polishing it
