MY VC'S * DONE BABY DONE!!*
This was built in the 70s and repainted over 20 years ago, runs a strong 360/ 727 trans. Guards were flaired back when they knew how, it has late model bucket seats, harnesses and
i recently built an old school looking console to house the B&M ratchet shifter in. Goes pretty hard but i just like cruisin in it.
Rocker covers were black powder coated so i stripped them by hand and spent a week sanding and polishing them up, wiring is hidden aswell.
I LOVE IT, its alot of fun as i have some mates with vals and we organise the occasional mopar cruise, they turn plenty of heads seeing 8-10 old girls cruising into town.

Nice looking car, great cruiser.
Had to reread what you wrote, I was thinking why are you trying to turn 8-10 year old girls heads, then I realised it was the cars.DeeCee wrote:they turn plenty of heads seeing 8-10 old girls cruising it town.

Re: MY VC'S * DONE BABY DONE!!*
Had a busy day today, found an addition for the shed, a new toy to add to the inventory. A barn find VC valiant ute, to go with my sedan,. It has had a 245 Hemi slotted in where the sland used to reside, not real keen on the colour so that will be changed before it is rego'd, thinking silver , with a candy red low rider style job on the roof, widies and white walls. Will take a bit of time, but what else is there to do over christmas .?
And finally, where it belongs!
couple of rusty bits to fix, but should not take long i hope, then PAINT!!

Re: MY VC'S * DONE BABY DONE!!*
Very nice Dale. Very jealous. Yup color has to be changed for sure. Are you going to go back to the slant or leave the 245 in ? ...IF .... it was me ...it would get a 360 in it and painted the same as the sedan.. then I would be out looking for a wagon which would get the same treatment ...a matching set ...but its not me sooo ..... :-P
Re: MY VC'S * DONE BABY DONE!!*
Cool ute there, is that a Drifter behind the shed?????
It'd be a sweet one to grab for any collection!

NO Dean, i will not be slotting in a 360, i need something i can afford to run more than once a month. The 245 will stay mate, it will be used regularly, so needs to be affordable, but i like the idea of finding a wagon aswell, then i could flog off the P/T ,and have 3 REAL cars.

Nothing wrong with your eyes Rob, Yes, it is a drifter he dragged out of the bush, all broken windows but salvageable, it will take up the space in the shed left by my ute.checkmate wrote:Cool ute there, is that a Drifter behind the shed?????

Is actually a factory 4 speed too.

Re: MY VC'S * DONE BABY DONE!!*
Can you imagine if they remade these old girls. The early VC,E,F and G valiants, the HK,T,G and Q Holdens and the XR,T,W,Y Falcons. Every man (and quite a few chicky babes) in Australia would have a 'New' car in their driveway and the Australian car industry would be a world class leader !
LOVE the paintwork mate. Would expect nothing less from your talented hands and imagination !

Re: MY VC'S * DONE BABY DONE!!*
Thanks for the compliments guys, BIG week-end this one was, spent the whole week-end on the roof of the ute.
Over 300 mtrs of fine line tape and blue painters masking tape was used, with back masking and re-masking etc.
Just needs to be clear coated next week-end.
Its not perfect, but should make it stand out i think.
Now, hopefully i might find some model time.
