Cool project Allan , do you know if it was released as a drag truck and someone made it with local decals or was it a custom job by someone ?

Just as a point of interest , the builder of Waltzing Matilda (Terry O'Hare , he also built the Mini-Trac in my profile pic) is trying to find where the truck ended up as he lost track of it after being sold several times . If anyone knows anything please let me know .

The remains of waltz is in tasmania , some landscape mob got it , duno how but they used the cab on one truck and bits on another . They had an article in truckin life couple of months ago about how they got it and parted it out .
It's been along time between drinks but if you can find it truckin life brought out a special magazine with the pictures and write ups on the race trucks doin the rounds of the tracks .

Tyrone Malone had a heap of show/drag trucks and there are a few web sites that are dedicated to his memory. The four kits were Super Boss and Papa Truck and Bandag Bandit and The Hideout Truck. I got in touch with Ken Harris, who drove the Papa Truck in the European tour to ask him about the colour of both the Bandag Bandit and the Hideout Truck, and he said to me that they were black and always were black with red chassis's. There was also Mama Truck which was the transporter for the Show Truck of America. There was a wheel standing K model as well and a pontiac trans am from memory. Tyrone Malone died whilst driving his Cadillac, he was T-boned by a truck. As for Waltzing Matilda, as far as I knor it is still being used to transport honey for a company here in Tassie at Mole Creek. The guy has a fleet of old Fords, all in metallic green, a few Louis, F600, older F350 etc., all in beautiful condition. I heard recently that the panels have been located minus the jet engine and there are plans to restore it, but I'm not sure if it has been sold or it is the honey farmer that is building it. There is an artical floating around with an interview with the owner discussing this restoration.
