I started this one awhile ago but was not happy with how the paint went down, so now that we have nice warm to hot days i have managed to get a smooth gloss finish. This will be built as a curbside so i am hoping it should be done quickly. I'm using Michael's decals which are complete to do this car as Robby raced at the Indy 500 in 93.

Mean looking car there Shayne. Great paint finish on it, but the decals give it its character so let's see how it all turns out.

BTW for a second I thought there was a guy sitting inside the sidepod on the real car, but it's only the driver's helmet!!! Laughing

I have the decals on all bar the nose one which i am awaiting a replacement from Michael as i stuffed it up. It is probably the easiest one to place but when i was not happy with it i tried to move it and it did not want to move. Decals are excellent and will happily use again. Now i will move to wrapping it all up once i have cleaned the residue and then hit it with 2K

Coming together nicely mate, i admire your patience with the decals, personally i hate the things, they are an art in them selves to get them right, youv'e done very well by stuffing up only 1 of them, looking forward to the finished product. popcorn

While waiting for the decal required so i can get the 2K onto this body i have done the tyres and wheels. I used Semi Gloss Black for the rims and then used the Good Year supplied decals which were a pain as they were quite old and did not want to play the game. Once on i have now cleared over them with Flat Lacquer to help blend them into the tyre sides, i will dull this down with some black weathering powder soon. I covered the wheels with a $2 coin as the tyres are quite soft and did not want to hurt the decal trying to get them over the wheels.

Small update, i have ground down the molded in seat-belts and then flocked the seat base and added belts. I used Leukoplast band-aid tape painted flat black as i was not sure of the colour and went with Simpson decals, hardware is Model Car Garage - i think.
With the temps about to go up again i should be able to get the 2K on Sunday or Monday night.

That chassis is a sculpture by itself. i haven.t been a fan of flocking so far but the seat works so well. Going to be a good looking race car
