74 Cuda pro street
The old AMT snap fast kit's getting a bit of an upgrade. Body mold lines ie around windows and doors was nearly non existent and when I finally managed to cut the hood out found it was about 2.5 mm thick. Made some gutter channels for the front guards using a top sportsman floor for the munting huge tubs and rear suspension,Front and rear tires are from the AMT pro street superebee as is the basic engine. Parts box supercharger and hat, resin seats and carbs . Stance is as it sits

i've got a 70 challenger that i'm thinking of turning into a drag car, but not sure if i'm willing to destroy 2 models to build one..

Thats how parts boxes are built . as a kit this looked very toy like and I'll either use the body for another slot car or do a scratch built frame for it later. I know where you're coming from though, I was the same until not long ago, but sometimes sacrifices have to be made to get a car to look how you want it to
Re: 74 Cuda pro street
That be gonna look TUUFFFF AS NAILS mate, i agree with you, sometimes you need to sacrafice to get the right result, i've pulled two models off the shelf to make the right one look how it should, the left overs from the other now become donor bits for 2 or 3 other builds. Looking forward to this one being a MOPAR, please detail this ones engine, as your engine work is , and MOPARS deserve it!!!!

Re: 74 Cuda pro street
i've got much the same idea as you've got here, question for you, how much cutting did you have to do, to get the car to accept the pro sportsman chassis, did you use the full tubular chassis underneath..inspire me lol
i've got 2 spare pro sportsman chassis's here and i want to do something with them, other than box stock..thinking of my challenger or my cuda here..cheers

Re: 74 Cuda pro street
not a lot of chopping on this one, back of the floor pan and had to shorten the front rails about 5mm. However read this
https://ozautobuilders.forumotion.com/t2693-70-cuda-no2
its the revell cuda (challengers the same dimension wise) I did mid 2010. Then if you still wanna proceed lol and need some help I'll walk you through if you'ld like

Re: 74 Cuda pro street
Looking tough!
On the subject of kit bashing, never think of it as destroying more than one kit to build only one car.
That may be the initial outcome, but the parts left over will eventually be used to help another build become better than it might have been without those parts.

Re: 74 Cuda pro street
Yea t was really hard to get anywhere over here for a while, think it might have been distribution problems.
Re: 74 Cuda pro street
got the foiling done yesterday, and polished the paint. Made up the exhausts not sure about those tho. Lake pipes or just dumped out the sides?
Re: 74 Cuda pro street
Oh yeah. Sweet as.
And I agree 100% with what Carps said.
Build them don't collect them. It's only plastic and there is no kit too valuable to chop up.
