Model Expo 2008 and Swap Meet - Confession time! :D
So guys, what did you all pick up at the swap meet? Time to own up!!!
I managed to show great restraint (AKA fear of my wife!) and left with these treasures:
The small packets are PE radio faces and a Duvall Windscreen.
Thanks Paul and Andy, and nice to meet you guys and a couple of others too!!

Re: Model Expo 2008 and Swap Meet - Confession time! :D
I didn't find much that I don't already have covered.
But I grabbed a few things just because they were the right price.
Damaged & incomplete '55 Chev Pro Mod kit (already started transferring parts to my Lexus LS400 Gasser - modern style).
'56 F100 because I keep seeing people asking where can one be found because they are apparently impossible to find.
'41 Willys, not that I need another Willys kit. but this is an original SWC car with all the opening panels and the kustom grille etc.
'50 Chev Pick-up, too cheap to pass and it's in perfect order just missing the box (I already have one in a box so that aint a problem)
AMT Blueprinter engine and kustom grille kit. For five bux more than the kustom grille kit on it;s own I got four complete engines as well as all the grilles. Hard to pass on such a deal.
Add a couple of old magazines, a few resin parts and we're pretty much done.

Re: Model Expo 2008 and Swap Meet - Confession time! :D
I picked up these two from the swap and sell:
$22 and $15 respectively - I thought that was pretty good value. The Firebird has an injected blower and some cool drag decals that may find their way onto the Pussy Wagon and the Bel Air has some Offenhauser valve covers for a W-engine and a set of AR Torque Thrusts (unplated unfortunately). That's about all I've been able to gather from a quick inspection on Sunday night...
I also bought these three on Saturday:
I thought I had done alright, but when I got home and opened them up I was a bit disappointed to find that the Porsche and Nissan have "metal plated bodies"!!! What the f*#k is that all about?
Any suggestions on why I would want this?

These are actually special editions in Japan, they are popular there and retail for about 20% more than the normal editions, I have a Porsche GT2 in silver metallic, and I saw a blue Impreza too, but didnt buy it. They actually look pretty good built up, just something a little different than normal. They look a little like trophies.
Of course, I haven't built mine yet.

The models are plated so that you can get more practice using White King to remove the plating!

Hi Everyone,
I'm new here. I just picked up a couple of Tamiya F1 cars, A Benetton B188 and a Brabham Bt-46. I felt that I was very restrained, I usually leave with an armful. I missed out on a couple of others that I saw walking around, don't you hate that !
Gday to Hamish who told me about this forum.
Cheers
Tony

Ah Bryce you forgot to mention the bit about me finally posting on this forum, yes two models possibly built before the end of the year and better than that Mustang crash and burn effort that took its toll on my sanity.
