1/25 MPC General Lee
Yep, another General Lee. After delivering the last General Lee to a friend at work, another work mate saw it and then he wanted one. This one is the newer MPC kit with the right body shape/back window for the General but still a crap kit. Bad molds, lots of time spent on cleaning up flash and mold lines. Badly fitting roll cage, again, and the chrome parts didn't go in easy either. The chrome trim was done with Alclad again.
I still haven't done one for myself yet.
Thanks for looking,
Beno

Very nice work, well done. Everyone I know of that has built that kit always says how crap it is. Nice lemonade from lemon.

Re: 1/25 MPC General Lee
Nice job mate, sounds like it fell out of the same mold as the AMT Fast 5 Dodge Charger, same flash and mold lines, but still a tuff kit when built properly. Well done on this one mate.

Re: 1/25 MPC General Lee
DeeCee, they were using the Charger 500 body until someone pointed out that the F&F charger body was more correct, so they are using that instead now. Given this is their biggest selling kit (presumably), it's a shame they haven't updated the molds. how many younguns have tried their hands at this kit as their first model and given up?
Nicely built Lee, Beno. it looks quite sharp.

Re: 1/25 MPC General Lee
I built one as a nipper. Don't remember it as being particularly bad. I do remember being pleased it was moulded in orange so I didn't have to paint it and being annoyed that it didn't have a confederate flag on the decal sheet (political correctness gone mad?).
One day i'll make another but it'll be built using the Revell '68 plus donor & aftermarket parts trick.

Re: 1/25 MPC General Lee
For the $40 I payed for it, it's a bloody poor kit I reckon, badly needs re-tooling. It now comes with all parts moulded in white instead of orange. But yes, a very cool looking car The General Lee, you've just got to put in the work. Thanks for all the comments guys.
