International Scout
Hey there
I wanted to build a vehicle that looks like it belonged to a Redneck that fits all cliches like a potbelly, some teeth knocked out and a "git´r´done" tattoo on his forehead. A guy who lives somewhere in the isolated swampland...something like that. I thought that had to be something with a 4 wheel drive so I took an International Scout from my stash to begin with. The Scout looks pretty lame when built stock, so I did some mods to make it look mean. I cut off the roof and installed a scratchbuilt rollcage with a camouflage covering made of kleenex tissue. Next step was the undercarriage. I built some new leaf springs from sheet and used some Mopar A-body axles from the parts box. I made the front wheels steerable and the suspension is fully working. For a bad to the bone appearance the whole thing had to be flat black. After painting it looked too clean for something that is driven through muddy roads. I used putty as mud and painted the rough surface with olive drab color.
Some minor details are still missing. There are no seats installed yet and some other bits are missing, too. But I think it is complete enough to show you some pics. Enjoy.
This model was pretty much of a quick built for me. It is just an undercarriage experiment I wanted to do before starting on the GMC Sierra from the Fall Guy series. After this succesful test the GMC will then be as superdetailed as possible. Yes...I´m one of those movie model freaks.
Critics and comments are welcome.
Cheers,
Kevin

Re: International Scout
Looks good...but for a redneck special it probably needs some rust spots and a few dents.

What a good job. I love how you've given it that muddy look.

Re: International Scout
Thanks for the kind comments mates.
@mgy125
Yeah, some dents would have been a nice touch. Same with the rust. But I think the rust would not be visible through all the dirt on the body.
Cheers,
Kevin

Re: International Scout
Definition of 'mud'...a backwoods body-filler.
