55 chev Cameo
Well its a nice sunny warm day and the fridge is full of cold beer so what better way to spend the day but enjoying the sun and a couple of beers and building models. So I thought I would give this a go. I have to say so far this has been a great model to build. Everything fits millimeter perfect.
This is what the box says
So gone are the standard wheels and spokes are replacing them and the standard carby is still on the sprue and some nice triples are sitting in the valley. I still need to make a dual exhaust to replace the single system that came with it .... so the chassis looks like this ...
Now the interior tub is as basic as can be. The detail for the door trims is almost invisible so I am not even going to try to paint it
So to break up the 'bland' I got out some corrugated card and made door trims and I think they came up pretty good. Im doing the interior in blue and white otherwise there is just too much blue.
So thats what I have so far. There was going to be some bare metal foil bits but Oz post appear to have lost the stuff I ordered and waiting on the replacement.
Anyway back to the fridge ....errrrmmm sorry workbench and its body time !

Nice one mate, love the interior work, if you make the top of the esky your work bench, you wont have to move all day.

True but there is always the chance of dropping it when I lift the lid to get another can ...hmmm maybe 2 esky's and swap esky's when I empty the first one ???

Oh yea ...what a PITA Spent ages building up around the window frame ..still not a great fit but better than it was. And then after all that and fitting it and glueing it without getting a glue finger print ...I checked it and there has been a glue run onto the screen. Grrrr I didnt use much glue either. Not having a good run with windscreens lately.
Anyhoot ...I really hate that tray at the back so today I had a go at scratch building a tray for the back. Not quite finished but once its all painted and the checkerplate is alcladed it should look OK.
Hopefully have it finished soon. About to start an e type which should be fun. I have 2 actualy ...first one will be box stock the other will have some 'improvements'
Cheers guys

I hate the styleside tray it comes with. I was going to use a tub from a 65 but I thought naaa lets be different. It wont have fancy show and go paint ...just a basic one ...its a work ute so I dont want it toooooo flash hehe !
Re: 55 chev Cameo
