59'CADILLAC ELDORADO
Hi all, started this today to get away from my gas van, ( paint keeps playing up).
Its going to be a basic but detailed build.
Going with black and chrome with a bright red interior and chrome spoked DZ's and sitting on its belly.
The kit has power steering, a/c compressor and a compressor for the air ride suspension, all heater hoses and cruise control unit under the bonnet to plumb and wire up so there will be lots of detail to try and do.
Interior is bright red, not pink as the pic looks.

The last era of American chrome and fins - what a decade the fifties was. Love this Caddy - I'll be watching your progress.

Re: 59'CADILLAC *final update?*
Hey guys,
gone cross-eyed, but the engine is plumbed, power steering, a/c lines, generator, starter,3 carbies and made a distributor and plug leads, will let it all dry so i can put some boots on the plug leads and fit the exhaust tomorrow night.
that will do tonight, can't see straight at the moment, will wait for the eyes to uncross

Re: 59'CADILLAC *final update?*
Just a hint of what it will look like, need to block the paint back and repaint as it is a crap body for black, doors are not molded flush and lots of wooples in the body panels, oh well, it was cheep.
Will get the paint done and then i will see how much chrome i will add, probably not the side stripes,?? i like the black.

Re: 59'CADILLAC *final update?*
Thanks Allan, been going slowly on this one due to some more renovations in progress, so only do the odd half hour here and there to relax a bit.
Motor is done and in the chassis, body painted, BMF'd and polished,
wheels on and she sits on the ground with nothing actually touching.
this should be the last update, next pics should be in the showroom, fingers crossed.

Re: 59'CADILLAC *final update?*
I promised myself I would not do another black car. Its one color I have no joy with (But I love it). Building a Tiger Shark for a mates 14 year old daughter and I have been TOLD it HAS to be black and white (She is a Swan Districts supporter) so I can only hope (in vain) to get a finish like yours.
Looking forward to seeing this in the showroom mate.
