Look I'm going to fairly honest here, even though you guys will probably not agree, but I honestly can't say "great or good" build. What's so great or good about it? It's a kit that hasn't been painted, no decals.... Not much of anything really, including effort. At the very least, maybe, you could've painted it for her? Hopefully there'll be some effort, other than glue, on the next build...

way to build up the confidence, we started somewhere and i'll tell you my first build was alot worse then this one.

Mate I didn't say not to stop ( her having a better go at doing another kit ) I just said there didn't seem to be any effort made, at least a paint job of some sort, on this particular build. Come on champ, it's a model kit, there's gotta be some type of effort in actually building it other than some glue, unless your Mrs is under 10yo? Specifically having you around to help. I'm left to assume you've at least built 1 or 2 models before? If your 1st build was worse than her's then maybe she's got the wrong teacher? Or maybe she's not that interested?
In my opinion, that's ok. It's ok to have your OWN thing & it's ok for the wife to have her OWN thing. I personally enjoy my own down time on the bench & wouldn't want the G'friend into the same hobby. Just like I really wouldn't wanna go shoe shopping with her or knitting etc. Guys need their OWN space, be it on the bench, out in the shed, golf, whatever, just something where the other half isn't breathing down your neck pestering you. But hey that's just me... Each to his own I guess...
