g'day all, looking for some help finding some future floor polish, have some decals from patto's and want to clearcoat them, his instructions say only use future floor polish, used tamiya clear and screwed some up, they started to shrivel up, will need to get some more and redo the damaged section of my build, my problem is i cant find any future floor polish in the shops, does anyone know if it is still available or is there another similar product that can be used as a gloss sealer, hope some one can help me regards harley fan

A Pascoes product called "Long Life self shining floor polish" is similar to Future. I have bought this product at Bunnings.

Long Life is cloudy when decanted from the bottle (One Go is clear - and yellowey). Can you confirm it dries crystal clear (One Go does)?

Thanks.

I buy my 'Pledge One Go' From Woolworths , but I have seen it at Bunnings and Coles as well. My Pledge One Go is milky white like skim milk, but dries clear and is self leveling. You can also pour it straight into your airbrush and apply it that way if you like.

I have only used Long Life self shining floor polish on clear plastic to make it look like glass, as you would with Future. It works well for this. I offered the name of the "Long Life self shining floor polish" product as I have been told this is one of the names the Future formula is sold as in Australia. There are other Pascoe's Long Life products such as "Long Life tile cleaner" which is not the same formula. I personally would not use any liquid floor polish as a gloss coat over paint as I believe these products contain ammonia which would cause the finish to eventually yellow after some time. I strongly believe in sticking to manufacturer's paint systems to get the best results in the long term. That is the final gloss or matt coats should be from the same manufacturer as the last finishing coat. This is my belief and experience only, and others may have found different through their experience.

Yeh thats what I have found as well. I've had no problems with the floor polish at all. Ammonia is what you use to remove the floor polish. I use windex. Thats what was recommended to me and it works well and does not affect the finish either. I guess you could use stronger products that could ruin a paint job, but Windex is not that strong.
