Another shop truck
Shop truck, parts chaser, service vehicle, push car (and tow vehicle if I get round to putting a tow bar on it) for Javelin Engineering.
Sitting high (2 inch lift) so it can hop kerbs without hitting anything (ask Tezza about my driving).
Turbo V6 replaced with a V8 for economy and because basically the early blowthrough carburated set up wouldn't have cut it.
Oh, and a RHD conversion.
Kit is the Monogram El Camino Camper. Not sure what year it represents (late 70's early 80's would be my guess) but it was a 'grail as i'd built one as a youth (still after the Black Knight version).
Paint is car paint with Tamiya clear.
Wheels & tyres are AMT Goon/Rosco/TJ Hooker car.
Engine is AMT USA1 monster truck minus the blower (they leave a lot of the stock C1500 parts in it).
The oh so attractive mirrors are from my parts box (something jap?) and the KC spots are from the Monogram F250.

Re: Another shop truck
Yeah Fred's driving reminds me of when CAMS used to run Rallycross events at Calder Park Raceway (Vic) during the seventies.
No doubt this El Camino would be very suited to a similar event in Fred's capable hands (he is really a very safe driver).
Mate this one looks great - you have a knack of making your models appear lifelike. Add to that your creative use of spare parts in builds and you have a winner. Well done!

Re: Another shop truck
Thanks folks. I wanted a late 70's early 80's vibe with the colours and it also echos a similar sceme I did on a '68 Elky.
Mrs z looked at it and said "those are funny colours to use".

Re: Another shop truck
The colors look very factory stock, good choice. It builds up very nicely.
I picked up the "Branding Iron" version of this kit a few years back and near as i could work out with a bit of research it is a '81 model so you guess is right on the money.

Re: Another shop truck
Agreed, a shop truck GAS would give me the excuse to start another project I've been wanting to do for a while
