Fenderless Volksrod
Right now I'm building a fenderless Volksrod from a Gunze 1956 VW. This style is very popular in 1:1 in europe and the US these days.
I have backdated the body into a year 1938 PROTOTYPE specs and then chopped, sectioned and channeled it. About 4" chop, 1,5" sectioning and about 3" channeling total. Front axle was reworked a bit to look like a Prototype/Kübel frontaxle. Rear suspension was more or less totally scratchbuilt. Welll, nuff said! Pics will do the rest.

Re: Fenderless Volksrod
More pics....
The wheels are 19" HumVee but somewhat modified to 20" for the rear ones. Front tires are unidentified from the partsbox while the rear tires are from the Monogram Classics series. I think it looks a lot like Airplane wheels, right???

Re: Fenderless Volksrod
This one's almost done...started putting the interior together today. First, the navigators office" in the rear compartment:
I've also decided on, and painted the headlights. Those will be mounted to the steering and follow the front wheels when turned!
Orange/Yellow tinted side and rear windows. Front screen is clear.

This is looking so cool. Always liked VW hot rods. You're doing a neat job on this one.
