60 Chevy Panel Delivery
Not sure if I haven't already started this thread?
This is a build for the Community Build formerly known as the Scale Auto Cannonball Run but now known as The Model Cars Magazine Cannonball Run due to it having moved forum for a reason I am not going to go into here.
Anyway, aim of the game is to build a car to compete in the Cannonball Run...In 1962.
What better than a small Panel Van/Sedan Delivery?
As my new favourite kit is the AMT '60 Chevy Pickemup, and I had one strewn about following completion of the TV Truck & from robbing the engine for the '59 Impala, I decided to convert a ute into a light van.
I wanted a one piece body so I grafted the tub onto the cab cutting part of the cab away so as to join at the door gaps to reduce the amount of sanding.
This made it 5 mm or so shorter.
I've lifted the tub sides and built up the body and am now building a roof from 2 cab roofs - this was the part I was not looking forward to.
Engine will be a Tri-power 421 Pontiac (Revell Parts Pack) which was new for 1962.
Wheels will be either baby moons or small window Astros from the AMT '60 'vette.
