Re: 60 starliner dooorslammer style
I know someone who's going to be getting all excited about that van in the background...
Pardon my ignorance but why narrow it? Is that normal for this class of car or is it just to fit the chassis?

Gonna look awsomely tuff as usual Brett. I like the shape of the starliner, Adam built one, and i always liked the lines of it.( wish i didn't give it to him now!)

That'll look tuff as with a heap of hard ware poking out the top, looking forward to this.

Re: 60 starliner dooorslammer style
Thanks guys, progress has been very slow as my mum had a heart attack a last weekend and is living with us now. Got started by lengthening the floor pan from cutting up another top sportsman kit floor though the remaining pieces are the perfect length for the next doorslammer project. Started scratching up my own cage/ chassis as the kit ones are too short to be used in the longer starliner cabin .
not real happy with how the cage has turned out so far so may make a brass one anyway. once its been tidied up and primed after the next few bars are added I'll decide then.
Retro, this will be a nitrous car so will have the big scoop rather than my preferred supercharger

Re: 60 starliner dooorslammer style
Looking sweet Brett, like the orange, makes the bodylines stand out nicely, flames look great too, maybe where the flames cross over each other, put a dark line for the shadow, 3d effect, nice job though mate.

Re: 60 starliner dooorslammer style
Thanks guys, Dale I was going to pinstripe them but I'm not sure what colour to use. Was thinking along the lines of a darkish green or purple. Both go well with both colours.
Ideas?
Ideas?
Re: 60 starliner dooorslammer style
Purple was my immediate thoughts, not too dark though, green would still look great if you go that way too mate.

Re: 60 starliner dooorslammer style
That looks real good Slammer! The chrome looks awesome.
One slight Niggle about the cage, It doesn't quite look right, either to low or square, but other than that an outstanding build.

Re: 60 starliner dooorslammer style
thanks guys , seems to be taking forever to get anything done, but have made a little progress. Couldn't find a later model ford race engine so I built a bbc for it
then remembered I had 2 Glidden thunderbird pro stock kits
got to wire and plumb it up for nitrous now. Had to modify the chassis a little to fit the wheelbase (the middle one)
and a quick mock up
Adam, once everythings in place it does fit a little better though that front bar is a little low
