Fujimi Altezza RS200 - 1/24 -
Hi guys! how are you?
This is my first post here in the forum, i hope you like the project....like i told you at my presentation this is my car for the forum contest (here in Argentina).
I have been working for a long time so i will post all the history in one post, and when i have news i will update it.
This is the kit...it will be mainly original, maybe a bit lower, with other rims, a cool paint and very simple, clean look (which is my style with cars), also i will try to add details as much as i can
This round light will be covered because i dont like them
Some blisters
I will open the grills
One rim option...maybe...
A lot of holes to open the grill
Cutting from behind
Quite clean...
I covered soem holes
A little work at the rear bumper
Some chassis work to make it more clean
i cutted the back part of the tail lights (then i will cover them)
Removed those "boxes"
Using my new tamiya mini saw
I decided to do a new exhasut system with evergreen rod
I will do a new muffler, more "sporty" like this
Some work with evergreen products
More chassis work...i removed this part to fit the new exhaust.
Cutting...
Some work to do the new "floor"
Exhaust support
I like this rims more than the others...but still havent decided
Since i moved the exhaust from one side to the other...i have to modify the engine cover/suspension support
Started with 1mm "floor"
Some strips
Then i made the new hole for the new exhaust
Some work on the differential...
The rear will have the original brakes disks, and at the front it will be some brembo disks from fujimi
Now lets do some interior work
Some marking
This is the real dashboard
i will try to improve it as much as i can...this is 100% new for me i never worked too much on the interior parts
Air diffusor
Then i open the glove comparment
I cutted my finger in the process
Dont pay attention to the blood
Some work on the inside
I made an axis
The last steps....
Primer time!!
Chassis
Rear suspension
Body
The rear bumper needs some sand work
Front bumper (it needs some work also)
Trunk - it needs works also -
Wing
And the beast!
And i also painted the exhaust with gloss black....gloss black? why?
Because i wanted to test my MGM magic chrome powder!
Gloss black
I rubbed it with some of this powder
Well sorry for the long post...if i have news i will update it
Hope you guys like it, and if you have any idea, opinion or suggestion are welcome

Very nice work. If you only cut yourself once doing all that you are doing well. I live with a box of bandaids on my workbench.

nice work. i like your attention to detail, but opening glovebox is a bit much (kudos for working it out). You make the modding look easy so i hope it inspires others to try it too. I prefer the first set of rims you show
Re: Fujimi Altezza RS200 - 1/24 -
Wow that's a lot of detail into this one mate. Can't wait to see it done.
P.S Welcome to the forum.

I got bored after a few pages and flicked to the end to see who did it.
Crazy attention to detail (says the person who has been known to opened up an ashtray) but don't you drive on the right in Brazil? Meaning maybe a left hand drive conversion might have been in order?
Anyway, I eagerly await the next installment but please make it a bit smaller

Welcome to the forum. Thanks for your very detailed display of work on my namesake car "AL-TEZZA"
Is this made by Toyota ? I'm sure this will be an exciting model to see when it's finished.

Re: Fujimi Altezza RS200 - 1/24 -
Thanks everybody for the comments! im glad you like it
Thanks! I am sorry it was a little too much long, but i want to show everything so you can see all the story and the evolution of the car...i am from Argentina, we have the stering on the left, but i didnt want to do the conversion.
Yep! it is made by Toyota...is a little strange, in Japan i think is sold by Toyota, but at USA i guess it is Lexus (i think is the "luxury" part of toyota in USA)
Maybe this weekend if i have a good weather, i will paint it

You don't have to apologize to Zenrat...he was just having a bad day...and besides his attention span is so short he only uses words of one syllable.

Tom's right*. No need to apologise to me. Especially as I accused you of being from the wrong country.

Re: Fujimi Altezza RS200 - 1/24 -
Love what you've done with this one Luchteam, especially removing the fog lamps from the bootlid, I always hated those.
Lexus was created by Toyota as a Luxury brand for sale in the United States and the first car was the LS 400.
It was originally planned that the brand would get a flash name as Nissan, Honda and Mazda did for their luxury brands, but when it came time to think of one, the project title, Luxury Export To United Statese had kinda grown on everybody and it stuck. Thus the car that was developed with the project name of Luxury Export For The United States, became LEXUS.
The original LS400 was built to compete in the US luxury market and never meant for sale in Japan as a Toyota (it was too big) but it proved so good and demead for it so high that is was rebadged Toyota Celsior and marketed in Japan. meanwhile the brand was so successful that additional models needed to be added and the quickest way to dop that was adapt existing Toyota models. Thus Camry was given a Lexus work over and became the ES range, next up was another unique Lexus vehicle, the GS range (not originally sold in Japan because it would clash head on with Crown, the staple Toyota luxury range) then, the IS range was developed as a compact sporty Lexus using a 2 litre or 3 litre in line six. In Japan this car was later offered as the Toyota Altezza Sports Saloon, fitted with the famous 'Beams' DOHC high performance four cylinder engine (the same engine used to power many F2 and F3 cars along with a few sports racing cars. A Turbocharged version was used to power the GT championship winning Supras. The Toyota Highlander (Kluger) was rewqorked to become the Lexus RX range, and LandCruiser was also upgraded to become the Lexus LX range.
A few years back the decision was taken to introduce the Lexus brand to Japan, thus ensuring Lexus models have their own identity across the globe. Of course there remains some platform sharing, but the Lexus DNA is strong enough that Lexus models based off Toyota platforms are very much uniquely Lexus and some Toyota models like Altezza vanished into obscurity which is now branded Lexus IS F Sport. And it's still one of the most underrated models in the compact sports luxury market segment.

Hello!
Yesterday i went to the automotive paint shop and i bought the color for the beast, it is a pearled blue from Honda (Adriatico Blue)
And today, is a great day (excelent temperature, no wind, very sunny day)...so i painted!
This is, by far, my best work with the paint...i cant believe that looks so good!
i guess i finally understood my airbrush
Cheers!
