this is AMT's 66 Buick wildcat, the kit comes with many optional parts but apart from the wheels this one is built factory stock

Re: 66 Buick Wildcat
That looks sweet.
Is it an old kit? Don't believe I've seen it before...what's it like to build?

Re: 66 Buick Wildcat
Judging by the "1966" moulded into the number plates it's an ex promo.
So i'd guess that means all moulded in one chassis and an axle through the engine?
And those look suspiciously like chrome headlamp lenses.
Nice build. Love the colour.

Re: 66 Buick Wildcat
Ditto to that zenrat. Is the colour an old AMT candy paint?

Re: 66 Buick Wildcat
Back in the day AMT redid many of their Promo models as kits.
This is one of them, first released as one of the 'Prestiege' series with a bunch of kustomising parts (I have one of these on the shelf). I think it was reissued later as a stock only build without the extra parts, as was done with others of the Prestige series such as the '65 Pontiac Bonneville (I had a real one of those but sadly only have the kits now) which was issued as a regular AMT kit (red car on box) and a Prestige kit. The tool was later modified as a 2+2 model which is readily available whilst the Bonneville (just like the 1/1 cars) has become a very rare beast.
