40' FORD PICK-UP *PAINT UP-DATE*

Hi guys,
started on a 40' Ford Pick-up, doing it low rider style

Had to narrow the rear a little and remake the diff locators.


Wheels are Pegasus DZ's and wide version on the rear

Mercury flat head engine.


Button interior.


here's a basic idea of what it where this is going.

Nice mate, how did you go about doing the button interior? Or is it like that from the box?

Hmmm looking good but I recon (and I cant believe I'm saying this) ...wheels need to be bigger and maybe a mil or 3 out of the roof ... Engine looks good ... popcorn time !!!

Zac, the interior is stock mate, just needed to ad some detail, and Dean, the rears are wider, but not going BIGGER, low rider wheels are 13-14" at most. Roof chop would be a big job as this kit has opening doors, so not going there on this one mate. But thanks for the input fellas.

Thanks fella's, i'n enjoying this one , a little something different, and i've got the challenge of an interesting "low style " paint job.
Allan, this will answer your question mate, as to what else i come up with , i don't know yet, but these are the colours i will be using.
a bit of masking off.

First step done.

after a little bit more masking and UNmasking. ( about an hour and a half so far).



LOTS more to do yet, but at least i think i know where its heading.

Thought you might add some patterns to the paint work.
Marble effect looks good

A few more hours in the paint room, masking and REmasking, i thought it needed a bit more to make it complete.

Next, block back the clear and recoat it, add some BMF and polish.

Very nice mate,the pattern design and colours suit it very well.
You are certainly very skilled at doing paint jobs.

Thanks again guys, TJ, i painted the base silver, layed down the outer stripe, the bit that stayed silver. Then mask off every thing you DON'T want marbled. The next step you have to be quick, spray the section blue, and while the paint is still wet, dab it lightly with scrunched up glad wrap. Try and do this only once, or it can make a real mess of the paint. Next step is to mask up the marbled area so you can paint the rest of the model, once that is done, remove all tape then clear coat. You can have alot of fun playing with different effects,.

That's one wicked paint job on it.
