New COE kit on the horizon? Empty New COE kit on the horizon?

Post by dragline Tue 20 Nov 2012, 6:29 pm

Perhaps I am behind the times, but I haven't found anything on this subject in any other posts. I just got the Round2 AMT/MPC/Polar Lights e-newsletter and the picture they published from their display at the 2012 ihobby expo shows at the bottom of their display what appears to be a 1956 (?) ford C-500 COE delivery van in Pepsi-cola livery.

Does anyone know anything about this kit? Is it on the horizon? is it in 1/25? is it in plastic?? or am I wigged out and dreaming?

Here is the link
http://wt.dlisys.com/round2/RD221039.asp?e=smoky_510@hotmail.com&j=%pj%&x1=

It's at the bottom left beside the Peterbilt Cabover.

The red/white/blue with orange rims look's like a 53 to 56 coe ford interesting if it is one.

Box looks small for 1/25 truck. Maybe 1/32?

Possibly a new kit?
However Ertl did do a diecast one in 1/25th. time will tell I guess. Would be nice to have that era avilable in a kit.

I posted this photo onto the Truck Model World forum (the forum run by the UK Magazine of the same name). One of the members there contacted Round 2 directly and here's what has been established:

The truck on the box is actually a 1:32 Die Cast model made by another manufacturer. The AMT (aka Round2) model WILL be released however it will not be the same as the one on the box. It will be using the later model C-600 cab as used on the Stake truck (shown beside it) and numerous others.
