RANCHERO
This is the AMT 1960 Ford Ranchero pickup the Ohio George little eliminator, Colour is Tamiya White X-2. There is some custom parts in the box, One has to remove the lip that goes across the top of the cab at the rear if you not going to use the custom bit that goes there you don't have to remove it. over all its a nice pickup truck. Did think on a two tone colour on it, but with my luck I know I would of buggered it Never done any thing white so this one is a first.

Re: RANCHERO
seat's are Tamiya light blue XF-23, dash, rims are a custom mix colour of Sky blue-14 with white X-2, engine same colour, chassis flat black. Hope by building this one picks me up out of a bad slump that I have been in. even bought some plane kits to pick me up.

Re: RANCHERO
Looks like a nice project Allan. Mate, I reckon the best way out of a slump is to aim for a finish, not perfection. Being able to tick something off the list is a help.

Re: RANCHERO
Looked at the rims for this one today and to my surprize have found that they are not very round they are more oval in shape so I dug into my stash of rims any found a nice set of Keystones rims had to dig into my tyre stash for a set of narrow tyres, found some. The new rims and tyres will give it a hot rod workshop ute look now.

G'day Allan... You actually commented on my build when I posted it some timeallan wrote:WOW that's cool, will be putting a violet pearl clear coat on it.
ago... but as I say, this is your "run" at this model and I'm really interested to
keep an eye on what you have in mind. It's exciting to see other modellers'
interpretations on a classic build. Go Allan!...

Re: RANCHERO
If anyone is thinking on using the decals in this kit you will be disappointed with them they are crap. Was going to use the two long ones that go alone the side of the ute,They fell a part as soon as they come of the backing paper there is two short ones that go from the front of the ute to the rear of the doors, I found two left hand side ones Looks like the decals were printed back when these kits first came out.

Re: RANCHERO
Looking great so far. Owned Falcon utes most of my life to haul bikes though my first was a little later than this one - an XC.

Re: RANCHERO
Hey Allan,
not a criticism, but to my eye the front tyres look to be a tad tall and don't look quite as good as they should.
Perhaps a lower profile tyre from your leftover's or another kit, that will fit those wheels might improve it?

Re: RANCHERO
Carps, Found a pair of lower profile tyres for the front which will lower the front end giving it a slight rake.

Re: RANCHERO
With your permission Allan, can I perhaps post my thoughts
on this build?.. it's a nice looking model, but I would like to
have a say on the way it is at present. Kindest regards.
