'56 Ford F100
G'day guys...just finished anothery,...A fair bit of work for me, but wrapt in the result.
Bought this semi completed kit at a garage sale for a couple of bucks.
Young guy said he didn't have the patience to build models and was going to chuck it!.
Anyway what was in the box was at least a good starting point for me.
I found the rear window covered in glue. Side windows, tailgate, headlight lens & most
engine parts were missing and the rear mudguards were glued on back to front.
Anyhoo I started by disassembling the model and laying aside useable parts.
Scrounged around in my shed and spare parts boxes and found enough
interesting bits 'n' pieces, Knurled nut, washers, wire, engine, wheels & tyres
etc.etc. to kick start this project.
Started by cutting down the tray & scratch building the rear....
I love plastic CD cases... they're great to work with....
Some "Evergreen" strips, plastic sprue, washers, & of course CD case & putty
my custom "sprue" exhaust system
Hahaha.. betcha you're all guessing what it's gonna be right?!.....
Well you're all wrong!.. It's a Ford F100 Tow Truck!....( my version anyway)....
And so without further ado... here 'tis
Paint is Tamiya Chrome Yellow with Black guards etc.
Decals were printed onto clear waterslide decal paper....The phone number?(101055),
that's my date of birth!... Anyway enough of this silly ol' farts wafflin'...
Hope you like the Truck!.

Re: '56 Ford F100
Thanks guys for your great comments!... This was a real "buzz"
for me, and it's true, the model becomes far more special,
when you build it "outside the box" as they say? and by putting your
own spin on it.
