Body in colour(saphire red Mitsubishi colour)
Lining the interior with grey felt
I was going to try & plumb the motor( never tried before) but will try on my next build
Basic interior, a few accesories to add yet
Thanks for looking, cheers

Re: 60` panelvan
I'm with you Checky. Back in the end of the 70's early 80's I was a member of a Van club in Dandenong. I had a bright yellow HJ with fully worked 202. I wonder why we haven't seen any of the resin models of Aussie panos which were started and shown here earlier this year? Is anyone out there building one..I'd love to see them.checkmate wrote:Its a van so of course we love it! Or at least I do!

Re: 60` panelvan
Shoey started building a model of my van but he's a slacker and hasn't finished it! And I started building a wrecked HQ van but haven't finished it either, so me and Shoey have a lot in common!

Looking good so far and nice choice of colour. I have been trying to get that kit but I dont have enough dosh for what guys are asking for them.
I had a HK pano and I used to go to the Van Nats held in Mildura ahhhh great times. But I always wanted a long wheel base bedford.

Re: 60` panelvan
Have built the "Streetfighter" Van many years ago(still have it) in a bright white colour . As for Aussie Van's, Iived through that era (I'm old enough to remember) as well as my two younger brothers had HQ Vans and I drove my youngest brothers van many many times and also flame painted it. Mr Checkmate ,well , I saw his van 30 years ago, how about that?

Good start Johno, nice colour. I still have the remains of the Bad Actor version of this that i built in the late `70s.

Re: 60` panelvan
This is Brilliant, I love the sedan delivery's with the low roof, they look so much better than the high top van's we got here.
I relly want a '59 though, I passed up the chance to buy a 1959 Chev Sedan delivery at one of the Chevy swap meets at the footscray markets (remember them?) back in the late '80's and have regretted it ever since. Needed a full resto and interior and was fresh off a ship but a good solid body. I often wonder what happened to it, it never seemed to turn up on the scene.

Re: 60` panelvan
Yeah Spirit, id be kicking myself too, if money was no object id have a 59 el camino in my driveway, the 59 is my all time favourite too, i found one in a shed in SA Riverland years ago that could have been mine, but being young and inexperienced and lack of funds it was not to be. I still think about that car often and wish i had my time over again.

Don't we all Johno...back when I got my licence I can remember looking at HK-HT GTS Monaros for around $1500 and they were around $500 out of reach for me at the time. Probably would have been worth the stretch though in hindsight...

Re: 60` panelvan
Johno, Glad you liked that and funny you thought none were in Oz , as it turned out there was a light blue one there and also the black matt one that used to do the rounds in Sydney some years ago. the car in the pics is also for sale, anyone got some dollars? I think its time to get that Monogram "Streetfighter"out of archives!
