just finished this Revell 70 AAR Cuda, pretty much out of the box, only thing i added was flocking and wiring, the decals were very old and put up a bit of a fight but they came out ok

That is one classy looking muscle car mate! 
... Don't know if you've tried it, but I find that if you come across an old decal sheet that may end up giving you grief...spray the sheet a couple coats of Clear Lacquer (rattle can), when dry recut the decal you want and go as per norm. This way they don't break up and are a bit more flexible. Might just help?.
