Pursuit Special Charger
A bit of history. I have been building models for forty years or so, started with military planes, tanks and such. Did have a period long ago building plastic muscle cars and more recently have been heavily into Warhamer 40k. The next thing to know I am a huge fan of Mad Max 1979, saw it at the drive in when it first came out and have seen it several hundred times since, so recently I bought the Nightrider's stolen HQ pursuit special, and Max's XB last of the V8 interceptors.
Now I always favored Chryslers and when I was 18 I bought a 360 v8 Charger wish I still had that car, and then I saw this on the net,
and an idea was born, convert a pursuit special charger, both NSW and SA ran v8 charger police cars so it is not that far fetched. I bought a 1/24 e49 Charger, now the conversion begins. I bought a F&F Camaro,
for the hood scoop and roof spoiler and other bits. Next another XB Interceptor for wheels, blower, light, squack box, front spoiler and what ever else I can use. And now I have a question, what colour Max's XB was gloss black the HQ dark metalic blue, I was thinking Satin black, what do people think?

Re: Pursuit Special Charger
in the first movie the interceptor was new and shiny to start with but was a bit dusty by the end of the movie

Re: Pursuit Special Charger
Hi guys thanks for your replies, just waiting on the Charger to show, waiting on e-bay delivery. Cut the scoop from the Camaro
and removed the rear spoiler for the roof spoiler pic to follow on that one. Dismantled the XB Got the parts I needed
Once the Charger turns up I can remove and fit the chin spoiler and the project can really begin. I'm still not sure of satin black or a really dark almost black metallic grey, I want it to fit in with the other respective Pursuit Specials, but be a little bit different, as they are to each other. Any opinions welcome.

Yes, saw the pics of your Charger, sweet ride very similar to what I have in mind. Went through your old posts, great body of work. Loved you daily driver VF is it a v8 or leaning tower of power? The only model of Valiant I haven't owned is the R/S series, unfortunately sold all of them before they were worth the big money they are today.

Re: Pursuit Special Charger
Sounds grouse, saw a V8 AP6 at the servo today just a nice survivor 273 with a sweet sound, took me back I had one about 34 years ago, but by the time I had acquired it  someone had stuck a 360 into it. It went hard but when you gave it a boot full the motor would torque twist and the 727 would grind on the 904 tunnel. Anyway back to the task at hand the XB parts car is a test mule for the two colours I'm thinking of going with,
satin black or metallic grey, thoughts?

Hi Rocketron. I'm a Mopar guy. With those choices I would go the navy blue with metallic gray. Using silver to separate them. I'm looking forward to the build.
